How to Check Expiration Dates on Diabetic Supplies
A quick guide to finding and reading expiration dates on the most common diabetic supply boxes.
Expiration dates are printed on the outside of most diabetic supply boxes, usually near the lot or batch number.
For test strips, look for an hourglass icon followed by a year and month — for example, '2027-08' means August 2027.
Dexcom and FreeStyle Libre sensors print expiration on the outer carton and on the individual sensor pouches.
If you can't find the date or it's unclear, take a photo of the box and we'll help you confirm it.
